HOW TO RESET WINDOWS ADMIN PASSWORD

This tutorial will help you when you forget windows admin password and you have not even made a windows password recovery disk to reset password.

Follow the steps given below to reset/crack windows password:-

First download  bootable live Ubuntu OS  and burn it to disk or copy it to pendrive

Step 1: Boot your pc from bootable Ubuntu disk/ pendrive

Step 2: Do not install Ubuntu just run Ubuntu without installation

Step 3: Navigate to C:\windows\system32  of windows from Ubuntu

Step 4: Search for sethc.exe and rename it to sethc0.exe

Step 5: Now rename cmd.exe to sethc.exe

Step 6: Restart your pc and remove disk/pendrive

Step 7: When login screen of windows appears press shift key 5 times will brings Command prompt windows

Step 8: At the command prompt type:

          net user [username] [password] and press enter

          Replace username with the user name of user pc

          Replace password with any password you want

 e.g:-  net user sam pass123

Step 9: After successfully changed password close command prompt windows

Step 10: Now you can login to windows using the password you have just changed.

**This trick works on any version of windows including windows 8.1
